So now instead of hosting a show with a bunch of loonies for guests, he's going to be on someone elses show!

Springer and Congress. A match made in heaven. Just when you thought it couldn't get any more surreal.

I was talking about this with Mrs. L. a little while ago. We agreed that if he was elected that that would probably be the signal to start the revolution. :what:

Ohio has more than its share of loonies in congress. Springer is just the next one in line.

You people in Ohio have a real problem and it needs to be fixed. Springer ain't how to fix it.

Jerry Springer has been involved in politics for years and is a lawyer. He made a bid for Governor of Ohio some years back but didn't pull it off at that time but he now has enough recognition to pull it off this time. I'm not a Democrat and don't particularly care for the Democrat party platform but you have to admit Jerry Springer would be a far better choice than many of the Democrats we presently have running around (not to say he's a better prospect than others Ohio may have lined up presently either)

Well, just think about it. If Jerry should win it will surely make Senate meeting intresting.

"Tonight on the Senate floor, 'My Nazi, transvestite lover is a dominatrix and passes bad bills in congress.' Stay tuned for the Jerry Springer Senate." :)

It could happen,

If Minn can elect Ventura -- Then Ohio could well elect Springer--

And Springer is prob better than Ventura--

I thought Senator Eric Fingerhut said it well on the news the other night. "Jerry Springer wants to represent the same people he has exploited for years, and made millions off of."

Springer say's he wants to represent the people who have no voice in government. Isn't that the folks who don't vote? I can't wait to see the political ads next election. Shouldn't be boring at least.

Sean Hannity interviewed Springer last week and he sounds fairly intelligent, although liberal. He claims the stuff on his TV show is purely theatrics and only done for ratings & money. He says it's just a job.

Channel surfing I come across his show now & then, usually pause to watch a minute or two.
What is it about Springer that makes fat women want to take off their clothes? What effect would this have on Sen. Clinton if they find themselves on the same comittee?

Maybe instead of fillibusters, Senate deadlocks could be solved by a "Jerry Buster"...

Put all the parties in a locked room full of chairs. Last Man Standing, or seated in a still useable chair, wins.

Qualifies him for public execution, no?:neener:

Used to be any common man could get elected to office and that was probably good, as most common men were likely decent types.

Rich folks get elected. That was probably alright as you might assume if someone got rich they must have done something right.

Famous folks get elected. That was probably alright as you might assume if someone was famous they must have done something pretty grand.

Now a days there are very few "common" men I trust, and too damned many MO-RON's can get rich and/or famous for too many wrong reasons.

No one left to vote for.:(

Folks, I don't know how to tell you this, but Ohio is about to add Jerry Springer to the US Senate. The same Ohio that brought you anti-gun Metzenbaum and John Glenn.

Why? Not because we love Jer-ry, Jer-ry, Jer-ry. It's because of our current RINO Senator, George Voinavitch. (Our other Senator, DeWine, is also a RINO.) Conservatives in Ohio are getting sick of RINO's (like Ohio Governor Taft). The only way they will learn that they can't stab their base in the back is to be voted out of office. We won't vote for Springer, but we won't vote for any more RINO's either. That means that it must get worse before it gets better.

I'm about to give up and get out of here. It's a shame though. It's one thing for a state to elect stupid governors (like Gray Davis or Holden). It's awful when a state inflicts this on the whole country in the US Senate. I was ashamed of Metzenbaum and Glenn. I will soon be ashamed of Springer. Not for his TV show. For giving him a platform to inflict socialist dogma on the whole country.

Sad.

So, if Springer gets elected, does Steve (the bald-headed security guy) get to be a Secret Service Agent assigned to Springers' detail?

Will he end his speeches in sessions with his tag line "Take care of yourselves, and each other."?

What will he do for a filibuster? Interview members of the Kennedy family?

Wonder if this means hookers will take him on credit, rather than make him write checks. ;)

Didn't Howard Stern run as a Republicreep a couple of years ago? Wouldn't it be interesting having the two of them across the aisle from each other...
