I acutally read this in a book; that you could go up to the Caspian factory up in the wilderness and they oftentimes had 'seconds' on their slides/frames just due to cosmetic imperfections with $$ off. I was just wondering if this was true or not? If not, would the price difference warrant a drive to check it out?

They have a specials page on their website, or call them.

They sell seconds through Forster industries. You can't really drive up and get them because of the interstate transfer laws so you might as well do it over the phone.

Here's the link to the web site...it's more often updated than the Specials page at Caspian. Note that these are often production overruns rather than cosmetic seconds. Caspian also shows up on vendors' row at Camp Perry every year with boxes of seconds.
