I am trying to change a buffer spring, but the old one is very hard to get out. I am trying to install a new one that is supposed to help with vibration. Any tips?
Thanks

make sure you properly depress the little retainer detent thingy.

Depress the detent, remove the buffere and just pull the spring out. If it's really hard to remove the spring, then it' might be rusted into the buffer tube. Or something else may be jammed in their with it.

Oh gosh...I meant the a replacement buffer shock absorber. It goes on the backside of the buffer. I believe it runs into the stock and hits in the stock. It is like a little piece of hard rubber. They say that when you replace the existing buffer shock absorber, it cuts down on unwanted vibration when the bolt slams the piece back. I got the shear pin out of the hole with a 3/32 pin, but the buffer shock absorber is really hard to get out. I tried grabbing it out with a vice grip, but it just doesn't budge. I hope I said what I meant to say this time.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Who's they? What kind of vibration are you getting? It's not a good idea to disassemble the buffer at all. Are you working on a full stock or a preban collapsible?

Well, they is a firearms instructor. He saws all the guys he knows on SWAT teams have them. I figured out how to put it in and did so. I doubt it will do much. I also put a tactical charging handle piece in that holds the charging handle forward, only it allows the action to be racked easier because it is easier to grap. The only problem is that it protrudes and I actually prefer the one that came with it. I think I just fell for two stupid gimicks. Go figure. I should have spend the $30 these two things cost on 200 rds of ammo to practice with......
