Commander gets my vote the length and weigh are similar but the Sig is just too small on the grip way too small in my bear paw sized hands.

You can get 8 round magazines for the 1911 Mec-Gar or Wilson's plus the one in the chamber gives 9 rounds.

On a DA semi auto there must be enough frame to grab onto especially if trying to clear a holster when its wet or your hands are sweaty, last thing I want is a small grip that only holds one and a half fingers with a heavy double action trigger pull.:eek:

Trigger pull advantage and longer sight radius goes to the Commander as does ease of spare parts being available.

Both are good pistols its more a matter of what works for each person either way one this one you can't go wrong.;)

I went with the Sig. I like DA/SA for carry. The one pictured is a DAK I believe. I would look for a Sig P245 instead.

My P220 and P220 Carry are the reasons I got rid of my Commander. The P220 compact is just too small in the grip for me. I've also seen a lot of complaints about DW's current crop of 1911's in terms of QC. Maybe if you compared a Colt NRM Commander to a P220 Carry, you might find them neck and neck?!

Neither. Both are nice enough, but there are lighter, similar sized guns that carry 8 rounds, cost much, much less, and are every bit as reliable and accurate.
