I am putting a new set of bushings in my 1911 this evening, would loctite hold them in well enough or should I look up someone with a bushing staking tool?

Thanks,

I've used "red" Loctite on 1911 grip bushings with no loosening issues. If you ever need to remove them...just hold a soldering iron against them. They'll soon warm-up to +250*(F) and then unscrew with no damage or highlights.

Probably any grade of Lock-Tight will hold them.

But, be sure and check for excess length inside the mag well if you don't stake them. Without staking, they are sure to stick through the frame far enough to interfere with the magazine.

It will be much easier to trim them to length before you Lock-Tight them in and find out the magazines won't go in the gun..
