A lot of knives (and some ubertactical holsters) come with a bunch of straps 'n stuff so you can fit a gun or a knife pretty much anywhere on your extremities.

Well I bought myself a cheap diver's knife (really no more rust-resistant than any other, but it was cheap and built with plastic instead of leather) for fishing, and I finally busted a strap on it.

Anybody know if someone out there makes decent replacement straps? The holes in my sheath are just over 1.25in long. I have access to some velcro strapping, but I'm wondering if somebody out there makes a decent product (and using shoestrings or paracord just screams 14 year-old anarchist wannabe.)

REI will make custom straps for you out of nylon webbing, which is great if you have access to an REI. If not, they have it online:

Hope that helps.

Here's a couple more:
www.strapworks.com (they sell ready made straps, nylon webbing by the foot, buckles, and other hardware and advertise that they do custom work)
www.nrsweb.com (1" wide tie down straps in lots of lengths)
I've bought stuff from Strapworks--good products, fast service, shipping charges a little pricey.
No first-hand experience with NRS.
