1942, the greatest movie of all time comes out. Casablanca. Humphry Bogart.Ingrid Bergman, and Dooley Wilson just to name a few

with very little gun play it still displays the machoness of Humphrys charecter "Rick" in the two scenes rick is show with a gun. (1st being when he holds up Captain Renault, the second when he shoots Major Strasser so his love can escape with another man) but what does he use?

judging by this scene from themovie. is he armed with a 1903 pocket hammerless or a 1911

dimentions seem to favor a 1903. whats your idea?

From the web area of the hand in the picture it looks more like the 1903 than the 1911 IMO.

I'd say the 1903 in.32acp or the 1908 in .380acp. Great movie! I just watched it again, a few weeks ago! Great acting by Claude Rains in the Capt. Renault role........

The Old Fuff will confirm that the pistol is a Colt Pocket Model (Hammerless), either a 1903 in .32 ACP or a 1908 in .380 ACP.

Fans should also view Key Largo, for more Pocket Model action. Bogart at his best.

Humphry Bogart is one of my favorite actors (John Wayne is my other favorite) and Casablance is one of my all time favorite movies. It is a Colt 1903 pistol Bogey uses in many of his films.

Hahaha! Yep, Old Fuff, I've noticed that too, on Key Largo at the end, on the boat, with the 1903........

Concur: it's a Colt Pocket Model, either .32 or .380. My wife has a .380 that she had occasion to use to dissuade some burglars while I was away on cruise. It was loaded then with ball, now with Gold Dots.
Cordially, Jack
