Summation: Poacher (who is on probation for previous conviction) took an 11 point and an 8 point buck (leaving behind everything but the heads and backstraps) without the property owner's permission. Property owner called the game warden. The game warden took the femurs of both bucks. He then went to the home of the poacher (suspecting who it was) and found the heads.
I hope they nail this poacher to the wall. Actions like this are what make it so difficult to find a cheap place to hunt in Texas. :fire:

While I agree with you that this type of action is disgusting, it has NOTHING to do with the ability to find hunting that is affordable in this state. That is another matter altogether.

Poachers = scum of the earth. More power to the Wardens. Vermin such as poachers should be devoid of rights.

But aren't there more deer than EVER now in the Continental US? I think a serious argument could be made for delisting them as a game animal at ALL and abolishing all licenses, tags, seasons and regulations.
Instead of course, they are MORE regulated than ever.

Overpopulation calls for herd management, not for indiscriminate taking of prime bucks.

From the link:
"On the Moncrief Ranch there is no deer hunting. They like to preserve the wildlife."
According to the article this quote is from a long time ranch employee. I'm surprised they keep idiots on the payroll.

I have a neighbor whom I hope they catch this year for doing much of the same. Midnight rifle shots from his baited grass patches (behind his house) is a weekly thing.
I think I have the Wardens number on our speed dial.
