Hello, what is the proper tool and technique used to stake this pin on both sides of the hole in the top of the Beretta slide?

AFAIK, they just used a small chisel across the hole, staking both sides at the same time. You can do the same thing, or just leave it alone. That staking was a super precaution; the pin is tight enough not to really need it.

Beretta recomends a 1/4 " cold chisel with the point ground down slightly so it does not cut but does roll the metal over. This is what they told us at the factory armorers course I took a few years ago.
