How are Laser Cast bullets?

These seem like a great deal... how have they treated you? I'm interested in loading for .44 mag. Are they appropriate for hunting deer? Whats the deal with the Silver Alloy?

I've had nothing but excellent service from them and they put out an excellent product.
"Whats the deal with the Silver Alloy?" Ok, that part is a marketing gimmick. The metal ores they use probably do contain a tiny percentage of silver, most do, but it doesn't do anything for the bullets themselves.

They seem to me to be good, consistant and quite hard cast bullets. I have used them in .44 mag as well as Ruger loads in .45 Colt. I have jacked them up to pretty high speeds with almost zero leading of the bore. They shoot really well for me. I have not taken big game with them though.

Here's the background on Oregon Trails. The owners have a silver mine and are also into shooting. At the time lasercast started out, silver was cheap and someone there tried adding it to their cast bullets. It makes them hard and cast nicely. Silver is still added to the alloy for hardening. It's pretty cheap when you own the silver mine.
I have been extremely impressed with the quality of their bullets. I've been using them since day one. They do not expand.

I have just started shooting their 200 gr SWC in my Wilson custom M1911. They are the most accurate bullet I have shot and I have tried many. I load 'em pretty soft--5.5 gr Win 231.

i've used these in 40s&w, and will try in 9mm soon. one thing i noticed is that my bullet seating die had a build up of lead gunk after 500 rounds, which led to the bullets not being seated uniformly. i took the die apart and cleaned the lead deposits off and was good to go again.

I've been using the 30cal Laser Cast bullets for a soft plinking load. They work well for fun shooting, at least.
I didn't know they had silver in them. At least I now know I have some bullets to use against werewolves.

I love 'em. I've them in both my SAA and my 1893 (in 45LC) and my XD45. I have no problems or complaints. In fact, they're the only cast bullets I'll buy.

Works great in .45 ACP, 45 Colt and .45-70. I have nothing but great things to say about 'em.
