A friend has this gun and I think it is a Flobert ( .22 cal ). In the pictures attached you can see the serial number ( 3885 ) and the name Warnant. Can anyone provide me with more info on this type of gun. Possible worth and where I can get more info on it.
John

There were a number of different Warnants in the gunmaking business (see http://www.littlegun.be/arme%20belge/a%20a%20artisans%20identifies%20gb.htm ), and there's even a "Warnant type" breech mechanism named after them. The pictures you post are of a Flobert type breech, meant for low-powered rimfires, and you should be able to see a ridge across the front of the hammer that acts like a firing-pin when you cock it. It looks like this one is missing its extractor, which also forms part of the chamber.
