RIDGWAY, Pa. - It's furry and walks on all fours. Beyond that, about the only thing certain about the critter photographed by a hunter's camera is that some people have gotten the notion it could be a Sasquatch, or bigfoot. Others say it's just a bear with a bad skin infection.
Rick Jacobs says he got the pictures from a camera with an automatic trigger that he fastened to a tree in the Allegheny National Forest, about 115 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, hoping to photograph deer.
"We couldn't figure out what they were," Jacobs said of the images captured on Sept. 16. "I've been hunting for years and I've never seen anything like this."
He contacted the Bigfoot Research Organization, which pursues reports of a legendary two-legged creature that some people believe lives in parts of the U.S. and Canada.
"It appears to be a primate-like animal. In my opinion, it appears to be a juvenile Sasquatch," said Paul Majeta of the bigfoot group.
However, the Pennsylvania Game Commission has a more conventional opinion. Agency spokesman Jerry Feaser said conservation officers routinely trap bears to be tagged and often see animals that look like the photos.
"There is no question it is a bear with a severe case of mange," Feaser told The Bradford Era.
Okay, what caliber for Bigfoot ???

It doesn't look like a normal black bear, but it could be one that's on death's door from starvation. Still, the legs look too long. It could be a feral dog, like those "Chupakabra" photos that were floating around awhile back.
Not sure why anyone says it's a bigfoot. It looks nothing like a bigfoot. It's small, skinny and the hip structure is not bipedal.

Interesting pic. and esheato, thanks for the clarification shot of the bear with mange. They do not seem to match up.
Does look a bit more like a chimp than a bear.
About a half hour difference in the time stamp between the pic's.
What is that little boxy shape in the bottom, middle?

The box looks like a weighted mineral/salt block that has been flipped over in the second photo.

Art,
It is the .223. The .223 is the best big game round ever invented, I know because JFK and I read about it on the internet last night.

Maybe that is the momma of the cubs. You know kids can make a monkey out of you!
But if it is a juvenile big foot, DO NOT SHOOT IT! The parents will find out, follow you home, and eat you up. What you need to do instead, is to take a goat along with you while you are hunting and if big foot comes around, give it to him and he will leave you alone. I once gave a big foot 2 goats, and he appreciated it so much, he ran a big buck right to my stand. Really!

I don't know what it is. I'm pretty skeptical and a cynic at heart. But I've got to be honest here. If that was my camera that I set up in my hunting spot...I think I'd be just a little bit spooked walking out of there after a couple of hours of hunting in the dark.
I mean, what if a twig snapped behind you?! I think I'd literally crap myself to death.
