There's a posting for Glock 18s on gunbroker... are these the real thing? Why so cheap? I though that these were suppose to cost $10K?

Here's the link...

Unfortunately, these are post 1986 weapons that can only be purchased by law enforcement agencies or by a FFL / SOT holder under certain conditions.

Hence the low price. Subjects like us are prohibited from owning these weapons.

yes there the real deal but being post 86 guns you can only purchase them as a law enforcement agency etc. and the cannot be had for personal use if I am not mistaken. May be wrong, has happened more than a few times before but i thinks thats whats up.

These are dealer samples according to the auction. I believe they are legal for some and for LE agencies.

I wonder if I can sign up as a deputy in a little town just so I can get one... not that I could actually afford it.

Your department would need to buy it. You could get an SOT and FFL if you want it that bad. THough it may depend on your state though.

Years ago I was a reserve officer for a small town here in Missouri where the chief was very gun friendly. He would sign anything for any office to purchase full auto firearms. Of course the gun belonged to the department, so if you left you had to sell it or turn it over. Still, it had its appeal. I never took advantage of it and work soon prevented me from continuing my duties. It might be nice to revisit such an option some day if I could find the right chief.

I know a guy who's an SOT/Class 3 dealer and he's got some really cool toys!
