Just wanted to share my find with everyone. I grabbed this M19-4 at a local shop with the Box numbered to the gun w/wax paper but no tools for $260+sales tax. :) I'd say the blue is better than 90%. RR/WO. Not sure if the stocks are correct as I usually see Targets on the 4"19's. Maybe someone could tell me if these are correct. The box is marked ST in the stock box. Square Target? Smooth Target? Standard? maybe??? Posted over at the S&W forum as well, but still haven't got any answer. Were Magnas standard on 4" 19-4's?
The Pachmayr grip adapter I had laying around the house. Got it for a dollar out of a used bin at the KTP a while back. Getting harder and harder to find P/R Smiths here in Ma. I think I was very lucky to get one at such a nice price. Funny think is that I payed the same price for my 2 1/2" 19-5 from the same store a couple of years ago.

The first guy behind the counter told me how people don't really like revolvers anymore! ;)
Guess that worked out o.k. for me. :)

Oh, took it to the range, and it shoots like a dream.:)

I can't see the revolver from my current location but ST normally means Smooth Trigger. All the S&W revolvers I bought new with the target stocks (TS) had to be ordered with them.

Wow.. I like to say congrats on the great buy! I picked up a 19-4 a few months back in about the same condition for 325. Mine did have the target stocks, then I switched to Pachmayr Grippers for a few cylinders..... Then switched back ;) Those combat magnums sure do shoot well! Best of luck with yours!

Now that I am at a location where I can see the revolver I would agree it seems that you got a fine one. As far as the grips go if you want to change them factory S&W target stocks are easy to get. You can get them at just about any gunshop, or I believe you can get them directly from the S&W website.

As far as shooting/carrying, the Service style panels w/grip adapter is perfect for me. That's how I set up my carry revolvers.

I'd like to have a "correct" set, just so I can have the option of setting it up as it's marked on the box if desired.

As stated before, the box is marked "ST" in the stock box on the factory box.

Still trying to figure out what ST stands for regarding stocks. :)
