I saw a S&W 66 Performance Center, matte stainless, adj trigger and sights, 3" ported brl for $640. It comes with both rubber and walnut grips and combination locking aluminum case. It is a real beauty, but is that a fair price? If I decide to get it, it'll be my first S&W.
Whatchya think? :scrutiny:

I'd say that's middle of the road in the Northeast.
BTW, are you sure you want a ported model? The 66 is a nice gun. Porting will help tame full-power .357 Magnum loads, but you'll get more than an earful in the process..

I had the blued steel version of that gun (called the "K-Comp" whereas the stainless version that you saw is the "F-Comp"). The action is very smooth, and it is pretty much a perfect carry gun. Price is in line with most Performance Center products. I happen to think that they are well worth the price.
