I've thought up a new "pepper gas" safety device!

Ok, we all know that quality pepper sprays such as those from Fox Labs are somewhat effective if conditions are right, but why not make them just as effective as firearms?

So here's my idea: Why doesn't someone simply compress OC powder into a copper cup, seal the contents in with a plastic wad, invert the cup and load it into a .308 cartridge? I'm thinking, if this compressed pepper "delivery system" can be driven to perhaps 3200 FPS, it might be fairly effective.

What can I say, I'm home from work with bronchitis and I'm bored.

But seriously, I betcha it would work better than traditional pepper spray....

that already exist pepper cartridges that are filled whit PAVA 120mg "synthetic pepper" that are 9mm or 22.. but also whit cs gas so you can load one with pepper and the next cs and so on.. The reach is about 4 meters
and very efective. http://www.umarex.com/index.php?id=products&L=en&haupt_id=2&unter_id=3&variante_id=4.1346&cHash=9c646a77f8

The idea of shooting a solid into a person which then causes additional pain when it dissolves is not a new one.

Shotgunners have been talking about doing that with rock salt for years.

Ummm, because at close range it would be a bullet with OC powder in it? Not a very good idea for a non-lethal alternative.

LMAO

Yeah? Well, what if 45 pounds of compressed OC is loaded into a 155mm shell and lobbed at (through?) an assailant at somewhere around 3,000 ?

It... was... a... joke....

Kinda thought the suggested 3,200 FPS velocity and jacketed in a "copper cup" would've given that away, but alas, I'm not very good at jest.

:neener:

Umarex... geez, those videos seem quite nasty. However, they didn't seem solid enough, so I question their effective range. I believe if it can stay together after penetrating through three 2x4s, it might fit my criteria. ;)
