I'm new to rabbit hunting and would like to know the best time of day to take my Beagle.

My experience with dogs and rabbits seemed like the weather had as much to do with success as time of day. Like most animals, early morning and late afternoon is the time of most natural activity, but a dog(unless they're holed up) kinda neutralizes that. Right before or right after periods of nasty weather usually makes for higher bunny movement, but anytime you can just get out with the dog should be considered a success.

As already stated, mornings or evenings, but they also get rather active prior to a big storm. On real cold winter days, they will also sit in their forms at mid-day trying suck-up a little warmth from the sun.

Thanks for the info guys. I took Beagle hunting mid-morning and he never got a scent. We may go again early in the morning. Can't go this evening, Alabama is playing somebody at football.
