Santa's promised to bring a Stevens 200 in .308 if I don't off his deer.. (oh and provide the miss'es with a new tile in her dining room ;p )

Budget is <$150, preferrably right around 100.
So let me start off saying i know the first rule should be, try to upgrade the glass... but I am honestly lucky to get to spend on the rifle :p

Tasco EXP ? (this is a oval lense on the front, 42x54mm) It was made before tasco was bought out, so warantee is shot, but they are on closeout for $105. Saw good reviews at gunblast.

Just wondering if anyone's heard much other feedback.. With no warrantee that kinda bothers me, but on the otherhand i have an older Tasco pronghorn 3-9 on my browning blr (223) since i bought it 15 yrs ago..

Any stevens owners know what point i have to move up from standard height rings to high rings ? (ie 44mm fits, but 50 requires high rings ?)

Thanks

I worked at TASCO. If it is the Chinese made scope, stay away.
Major complaint with these is that they fogged up. Not enough nitrogen inside the scope and therefore it would fog up bad. It is a good scope dont get me wrong but we had problems with the first series of these that came from china. BTW, TASCO was not bought out, it went Chapter 11 and Bushnell bought rights to some of the product.

Thanks for the input :)
Financial pressure has suggested (cough wife) I mount up for low $, so i'll likely end up with a current (at least it has a warantee) world class..

hope i can get the same mileage i have gotten from my 3-9 pronghorn...
