Everyone loves the kaboom pictures. How about some pics of faithful weapons
that just seemed to go to pasture? Old lever wall hangers, blue long gone, etc.
Just a silly picture book.

I can say that I don't believe that I have ever worn a weapon out~! ;)

I had a Springfield Armory gov't model that I bought used. I did a few mods on it over the years and ended up putting approximately 170,000 reloads through it (5.8 grains of WW231 behind a 200 gr swc) before cracking the frame just forward of the trigger loop on the frame. I gave it to a guy that was just starting out shooting IPSC for parts. His opinion was that it wasn't quite worn out, and he was still using it last I heard. My opinion was that it was worn out. Can't say enough for Wilson's Shok-Buffs.

After a 170 K rounds! I think you got your money's worth. And, unless the crack affected the function or the breech locking, I would have kept on using it.
One IPSC shooter I knew, he was using a chromed 1918 vintage Colt. It was cracked just at the slide release hole. Shot fine.
