The Remington.

Is the model 70 a classic with the full length claw extractor? If it is I'd get it. If not I'd get the Remington because the Winchester name doesn't belong on a push feed bolt rifle IMO.

In reality it comes down to whether you prefer the two position Remington safety and its location, or the three position Winchester safety and its location. That is assuming both are close in price to the Mossberg, because I'd take either of those used over a new Mossberg if the price is close.

first off, how old is the winny? if it is pre 64, then that. otherwise, I hate to say it, but the mossy, you can get a new model youth package, with all the inserts for the recoil pad, to make it fit adults, it comes with a scope, and all for about 300 bucks, on sale. Then you get an extra scope. it is basically a copy of the Howa action, and bbl, and it has some nice features on the stock, and bedding and built in sling studs, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Get the same make of rifle that your 7mm mag is. That way you are used to the safety

Get the Mossberg. At first I thought you were getting rifles all about the same cost. In that case, I would say get the Winchester due solely to price. Yet, the Mossberg is half the cost of the Remington and $100 less than the Winchester. Since this is a substitute-standard rifle, then get the cheaper one. You don't seem to be planning a long-term relationship with this rifle, but a year or two or three. The Remington and Winchesters are nicer, but more expensive. Get the Mossberg and then you have a rifle you can justify keeping for a loaner or knock-around rifle when your shoulder is back up to snuff. Besides, in South Louisiana (I have waded many a wet swamp in Lafouche, and Plaquimines Parishes), you won't regret too much dropping the ATR off a 4-wheeler or Mule/Gator.
