Where at?
I was hunting the (short!) wheat in Roosevelt this weekend - but it isn't time yet. It did work out ok though.
The quail were bothering me too much.;) Hurry up Saturday.
Hunt by Mangum for turkeys/deer, just so hot lately, don't want any spoilage.

Nice pig. I'm hopin' to get another poke at pork this season. I missed a 150 lb or so pig last year with my .357. Oh, well, I caught these in my trap Saturday morning. :D Meat's meat even if you have to resort to trappin' it. :D

Congrats on the nice looking eating hogs. Built a sturdy trap last year and have not caught a darn thing. Baited it with sour corn and the whole works. Surely i'm doing something wrong. So i am still doing it the old fashioned way, shooting them.

LOL, well, these are the first since I got that trap down there a few months ago. It has a door that stays closed and they shove it open to get in. At first, nothing, they would just root around trying to get at it, so I just left the door open and baited it and got 'em used to going in after the corn. The other day when I was putting corn in my feeder, I set it. BOOM, did the trick. :D My place has a HUGE hog population, think that's part of the trick to it, having an abundance of hogs.
I need to break out my smoke pole. I have a Hawken Hunter Carbine that I've never done anything, but punch paper with. When I want a challenge, I seem to always reach for a handgun. I bought the thing, I ought to hunt with it, I guess. :banghead:

BTW, did you measure that boar's fangs? Looks a bit toothy to me for a sub 200 lbs boar, would make an impressive mount I'll bet. :D Mine were all sows.

Would you believe that that is not a tooth? It seems like some of them hogs with Russian boar blood get that place on their lip before the tusk even grows in. He did not have even the first sign of a tusk. Checked very carefully because i thought he broke them off thrashing on the ground. He also had very small, undeveloped testicles.
That hog had probably been eating creep feed. My hunting partner heard a hog banging on a creep feeder just before this guy showed up: Cows do not do that.

Ha, well, I thought he looked a little toothy in that pic for young boar. LOL.
