...except I can't figure out how to use those dang stacking swivels :o

Anyway, picked up one of the CMP "Specials" from Father Knows Best (thanks!). She's a beaut...now I know what the Garands looks and felt like coming off the line in 1942. This one is a 1.58M SA, refinished receiver, milled trigger guard, new stock, barrel, all-SA parts, Turner Saddlery sling.

Here she is with her compadres (top- '39-manf SA, bottom-'44 manf SA)...

Congrats!

To more easily attach the stacking swivels - two Garands go one way and another goes the other way between the two. I'll try to find a pic.

Enjoy!

Hmm. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. This pic looks different than the way I remember doing it.

Well, that picture makes more sense than how I was trying to do it...

Oh god, I'm not the only one. I lucked into a M-1 at an estate auction awhile ago, and suddenly realized I had three, and could stack them, and it was the most peculiar and giddying realization.

27, wow. At my peak I could only make 7 stacks, now I'm down to 2 2/3 :(

Here's a pic I found at this site (http://www.solearabiantree.net/namingofparts/pilingswivel.html), which also has a neat article about the "piling swivel" ...which you have not got. ;)

Just think if MN M91 could do this. You would have a easy to setup tepee :D.

Seriously I need to get one of these excellent rifles someday soon. Then one day my dream could be to have enough to stack.

It's been a long time; two people are required to stack three rifles. The first two are easy, and the third is attached to them with its muzzle a bit higher than the butt, as shown in the earlier photo. The third rifle engages by rotating it clockwise until the sling is farthest from the other two rifles.

the first two rifles must be connected properly; there's a right way and a wrong way. I don't remember how it's done, but you only have two options.

You have too many Garands...:D
