Yes. They are smooth bore as most of the customers are Europeans, and they have some odd restrictions. You can find rifled barrels for the guns on the third link, and Track of The Wolf also offers Colerain barrels for the Baker rifle.

Here are a couple of pics of my Original one ( about 1812 ) for you to drool over Bob! I have everything to shoot it but I need to check the barrel out first and devise a way of cleaning it afterwards before I venture that far

I think there's an original carbine in the Texas State History museum. Some Mexican sharpshooters were equipped with Baker rifles during the Texas Revolution.

Luckily, most Mexicans were not. The Texians had superior weaponry (Kentucky rifles) and powder (DuPont), whereas most of the Mexican infantry had old Brown Bess muskets and very poor grade powder. The Mexican lancers/cavalry had Baker carbines and also outclassed a vast majority of the Texians in fighting ability, but most of them were further south at the time of San Jacinto and didn't figure into the final battle.

I got that tidbit of information from a book called Texian Illiad. It's a pretty good read and a must for Texas history buffs.

Sorry Bob!! I must say that the rifle is beautifully balanced and I can understand why it ws such a good piece of kit then!
