Interesting, but not that impressive. Yes, the ground was wet and soft. Driving over the guns with heavy equipment with wheels and tracks designed to spread the weight of the vehicle over a large area isn't nearly as impressive as they made it to be. Dropping the bucket on the gun by cutting hydraulic power was not a free fall drop at all and so the bucket didn't actually hit all that hard.
Putting rocks over the gun actually served to distribute pressure over a wider area. So driving over the guns and such isn't that big of a deal.
I was probably most impressed with hitting the pistols like baseballs and the 50 foot drops and shooting it with another gun.
The 2 minute fire wasn't that impressive. The fact that the guy acted like the gun was so incredibly hot was a joke given he was wearing gloves. Yet, the guy looked like every time he touched the slide that it burned his fingers through the gloves and yet the hand holding the gun didn't seem to be causing him any problems at all. Now just how hot would a gun have to be that it burned his hands on contact through the gloves? It wasn't as hot as he made it out to be. That is what I am saying. They made many of the tests look a lot worse than they actually were.
In shooting it with the other gun, they noted how they took aim at the slide and lasermax. No. They shot the slide, but the lasermax was not shot. That is a misrepresentation.
The explosion calculated to be comparable to that of an IED was a joke as well. Just what is the standard IED explosion? If it was so much, why wasn't there more damage to the roof of the car?
In the end, they apparently cleaned up the gun before attempting to fire it. Sure enough, the gun fired. Did anything go wrong? They didn't notice a thing, but if you watch carefully, you will see the shooter fire his shots and then pull the trigger on an empty chamber because the slide failed to lock back on empty. He then had to manually lock back the slide.
No doubt the gun went through a lot, but also no doubt the tests were designed to look a lot more impressive than they were.
