My Frankford Arsenal 29.99 tumbler died, after I used it once. I am sending it back to Midway. Should I replace it or get another brand?

If you have one has it been reliable?

I am kinda of ticked about spending 1/3 of the price to send back a defective product.

I've had my FA tumbler for 4 years. I use it about every other week for 4 hours of run time. I've never had a problem with it.

I have an FA tumbler, been using it for at least 4 years, not every week, but once to twice a month. No problems.

i have a FA thats been doing well for about 2.5-3 years, no complaints here. Let me also state it is the only tumbler i've ever owned though- so for all i know other tumblers are the bee's knees compared to it.

I've worn out 2 Midway tumbers in the last few years. Each lasted about 1 1/2 years. The price is low enough that they can almost be considered "disposable". Mine certainly were... :(

My FA smoked in 6 months, using it 3 hours a week, sometimes a bit more.

The Lyman that replaced it has been running for a year plus.

Hardly statistical, but hey, FWIW....

My F/A tumbler died in two weeks. I opened it up and found out that a connector had come off. I just put it back on and it has worked great for the last two years. There was another post a while back that suggested that you open these up and inspect to ensure that all the connectors are tight. Just a suggestion...

I had a brand new FA vibrator that failed after about 2 hours use. When we opened it up, I found that the mounting bolts were broken or stripped. Must not have been tightened properly at the factory. Traded it for a new one (man I love my gun shop), opened the new one up and found that the mounting bolts were finger tight. I cranked them tight, and that tumbler has been perfect every since. Seems to me that FA has a problem with this in assembly. No big deal, if you know about it!

I had a Lyman turbo Magnum last a yr running almost 24/7! Basically commercial use and for $80, you can't beat that! I now have 2 Dillon CV2001's and they have both been back to dillon for new motors(no BS so far)and one is on its way for a second new motor after less than 60 hrs of runtime! One of them had a metal shaving in the bottom of the motor housing that rubbed against the shaft till it cut it in half! (4 days from Brand new). So, while I LOVE my Dillon press, I am waiting for them to squawk about having to replace my tumbler motors almost monthly. For nearly $200 each, If they decide to quit servicing them for free, they can have them both back!!

Based on some other posts I just opened it up. one of the leads had broken off. Looked like it was crimped to tightly and the vibration caused the wire to break.

I bought a F.A. for $29.99 about a year ago. Have run it a fair amount. No problems, works great. I guess with these its pretty much the luck of the draw. Going to check mine out though for loose parts, connections & such. This is a super good price though, hard to resist.
