My friend bought a used Fabarm pump action shotgun a couple years ago. First time to the range the shells wouldn't eject and it took some REAL force to get them out. Didn't matter the brand or load. Something is wrong with the chamber. Just to be sure he thoroughly cleaned it but still has the same problem.

He still hasn't taken it anywhere for repair. Is there someone I can contact about the issue?

If your "friend" hasn't had the problem fixed in the couple of years that he's had the gun, then he must not be very concerned about the problem or the gun.

As to who to contact.......... I would suggest a gunsmith since they generally do repair work on guns. Probably a better option, if he really wants a gun that works reliably, is to trade it off for a better brand. Or, he might try polishing the chamber himself, but that's no guarantee that it will cure the problem.

If unfired shells can be inserted and taken out without problems, I question whether the chamber is really clean. Just running a cleaning rod through it doesn't do it. You need some real abrasion in the chamber, i.e. using a 10 ga. brass brush in the chamber with a drill motor to rotate it.

Are you joking with that statement, or is it a typo mistake? Surely you aren't serious that a brand new unfired shell shouldn't easily slip into and out of the chamber of a shotgun, even if the chamber isn't spotlessly clean.

I routinely shoot several hundred or even a thousand shells through my shotguns in between serious chamber cleanings and new shells will slide in and out just as easily on the 1,000th shell as it will on the 1st shell. If a new unfired shell won't slide in and out easily, then you DO have a problem.

Let me clarify, the unfired shell goes in no problem. The fired one has the rim jammed hard into the chamber, actually bending it a little.
