Get an off campus apartment, it's great for a number of reasons.
This was my nightstand gun for a long while, notice the 10 round mec-gar mag(ban in effect):

My nightstand gun: S&W 686 Plus loaded with Remington 158 grain 38 Spl +P. Makes for fast, easy follow up shots.
Ok, so this may not be a handgun, but it is as close as it gets.:D It sits between my bed and my nightstand. It always shoots where I point it.

No pictures right now, but on my wife's side of the bed, there is my off-duty S&W 6906 9mm. On my side of the bed, when I'm in bed is my on-duty Sig P-220 .45acp........and in the drawer below that is my other off-duty weapon, a PPK/S in .380.

For quite a while I have had this Glock 23 in my nightstand, loaded with 13 rounds of Winchester Silvertips. The gun has night sights, and I keep a small Surefire high-intensity flashlight next to it.
I guess I chose the Glock out of many alternatives because it always works and is very simple to operate, which is important if you are coming out of a sleep.

Hummmm...All those fancy guns...All I have in my nightstand is a mod 10 S&W 4" .38 Special and a speed loader. My wife has her Mod 10 S&W 2" and a speed loader...With a total of 50 140 grain +P rounds in my drawer...Seems adiquate to get me to my heavy stuff...

no digital camera & older computer...sorry; I'll do a written description:
first off a bit of history: for a while, I was buying, selling, and trading a whole bunch...I have since settled down alot; I noticed some of y'all listing or showing your ammo...let me say this, with a lot of guns to test and proof, I have usually stuck with older designs that don't cost an arm & a leg...mostly Winchester WWB Personal Defense jhp or Remington UMC jhp or Federal Nyclad when I could afford it...
a common theme: wheelguns...either .38 spl or .357 mag loaded with Winchester WWB Persoanl Defense 125 gr sjhp .38 spl +p, Remington UMC 125 gr sjhp .38 spl +p, Federal Nyclad 158 gr lswchp .38 spl +p, or Remington Express 158 gr lswchp .38 spl +p
an ole favorite...now long gone: Beretta 92FS...usually Winchester WWB Personal Defense 115 gr jhp or 147 gr jhp 9mm parabellum; sold it to get a S&W 64 for a common house gun for my dad & me (of course, he'd rather just have his S&W 642 near him...he's 76, he's stubborn, and claims to not have alot of time & desire to acclimate with a new gun; sheesh...he's used duty sized .38's most of his adult life in military security, civilian security, and feeral court security...whatever); the S&W 64 and an Uberti Cattleman recently payed for the majority of my new big bore...Glock 21; sorry about the rant...I highly prized my Beretta!
current & future: my S&W 642 w/ several HKS speedloaders & Bianchi Speed strips holding...you guessed it...Winchester WWB Personal Defense 125 gr sjhp .38 spl +p; also serves as my CCW (as infrequent as I do it); soon the Glock 21 with Remington UMC 230 gr jhp .45 acp will be my primary house gun, car gun, and hunting camp defense sidearm (primary choice of load would be Winchester WWB Personal Defense 230 gr jhp .45 acp, but local sources are dry or way overpriced); Ruger GP100 w/ 6" barrel and previously stated .38 spl +p load might make an appearance or two after hunting season has ended (it is currently sighted in for single action shooting & hunting load)

It could be any of a number of handguns for me, but most often it's my custom 1911 Govt. or my CZ40 because they have night sights. My AR15 carbines (http://mysite.verizon.net/dmk0210/myarms/Midlengths.JPG) are nearby too.

Here it is in sort of an artsy-fartsy picture I took all grainy (on purpose) with with a tea-light lit on my nightstand.
A S&W 19-3 + speed loader, and not seen in the picture is a Surefire G2 Nitrolon with the 120 lumen package in it. On the other side of the bed sleeps the 870 loaded with single O buckshot.

I really like your Beretta 90two. I may never own one, but the 90two has to be one of my favorite semi automatics. It is great to see that there are people out there that haven't believed all of the garbage that gets spewed out on gun forums about the Beretta 92/96 pistols. Beretta pistols are among the best semi automatics ever made in my opinion. If I ever cure my revolver itch, I might pick up a 90two or a PX4 Storm. They are both highly underrated guns.

My dad has never EVER had a FTF, FTF, etc... on his Beretta 92fcompact. I happen not to shoot it well, but that's just an ergonomics thing. The gun itself is a great gun!

Black Adder - I love the looks of your 90-two.
I have a 92FS and from time to time have had thoughts of upgrading and trading it on the 90-two.
Are you happy with the performance of the gun?
BTW - I am also a sunny south FL resident - Palm Beach/Stuart area
You are pretty much a badass if you have an Uzi in your nightstand, or, you might be Chuck Norris.

Yea that uzi IS badass, has it written all over it when its in your nightstand hahahaha, nice man.
I don't really have a nightstand gun, my safe is right beside my bed and I keep the key hidden nearby, I'm also a very very light sleeper. I can open the safe and load up a weapon in about 10 seconds or so, I'm really not to concered :D

I keep my 14yrold son's mosseburg 20guage youth model next to my bed cocked with no shell in the pipe(I have a five year old girl). I keep it that way so I will have to push the button at the bottom to load the shell. In the night stand I have my kimber with a loaded clip, and in the bottom drawer, I have my 686 6" unloaded. If I have to, I can beat the snot out of someone with that, but it is to dangerous with my daughter in the house. BTW, All kids and wife have been to the range and can hit what they aim for.

Chuck Norris' nightstand gun fires nightstands at the speed of light. It is loaded with only the finest quality antique nightstands. He once shot a burgalar with a Louis the 14th nightstand and knocked him all the way to Bulgaria.

I don't have a night stand, but I sleep with a Colt's commander, .45 ACP, Under the Pillow, cocked and locked, in a thumbsnap holster. The wifey sleeps with a LtWt Commander under her pillow. Before the safety Nazi's have a stroke, I have slept every night for the Past 29 years with that gun under my pillow and not once had a close call, neither has the wife.
In the corner are three 870's. In the closet are other longer range things. My son (17) has a 44 mag trapper in his corner along with a Model 37 Ithaca. The ammo is in a five button safe for him and the daughter, who has left her model 39-2 smith alone and moved up to a Para 13-45 limited, has the mags in the same style safe,
Hidden around the house are a few old S&W M10's and M13's You gotta know where they are, and even then, you gotta know how to get them out. Once you know the secret, they are within reach in a heartbeat.

This is my old IPSC .45, through which I shot thousands of rounds without ever one malfunction. All handloaded ammo too.
Now relegated to nightstand duty, I am still very comfortable with it and can accurately empty a mag in short order, although I am still firmly in "double tap" mode, hehehh.............

Come to Utah. All state schools are required to allow guns on campus.
The sword and rifle lean, the Mak lives in a fobus paddle holster tucked in the bed frame, and the Ruger is in the Ruger shoulder holster (that was so worthless it has been tied to the bed to become a bed holster).

By my bed, I keep a Model 10 loaded with 148 gr LHBWCs on top of 4 grains of W213/HP38. I also keep a little pouch handy which holds a Star MOD30MI 9MM and two extra magazines. In addition, there’s a Glenfield 60 that lives under the bed.
The wild thing is that, given the time, I would grab the Glenfield first rather than the other two. It’s just so fast, accurate and easy shooting. I can't shoot anything as good as I can the 60. I feel that that little rifle loaded with 18 Velocitors would be a most effective mood-changer inside of a house.
Since my original post, I've also changed my nightstand gun to a Cougar 8000 + Mossberg 500. WEIRD!
But I have since moved to an off campus apartment and all i have as yet the Keltec p3at.
