Congrats on the new B'Eagle ;) I don't have experience w/the 40, just the 9mm. The grips are shaped well & fit my hands well. They seem to be well built & sturdy firearms.

CZ based, so it's probably pretty rugged and accurate. Polygonal rifling is nice (no lead reloads for you).

A good buddy of mine has a Baby Eagle Compact in .40, with the frame-mounted safety. Some observations:

* The trigger is incredibly light in single action, it feels like under 3 pounds.

* It came from the factory with a feed ramp that needed smoothing. Since this was done, it's functioned flawlessly over many hundreds of rounds.

* It's very accurate, and the massive amount of steel used in its construction give one the impression that it will last a long, long time.

Hope that helps.

Also known as the Jericho pistol. Military & security forces pistol of Isreal. Good solid pistol.

Renamed Baby Eagle for US market to take advantage of Desert Eagle name recognition.

Mine was kinda funny about the ammo it ate and needed a trigger job before I shot it much. It was my first pistol and I don't carry it as much as I should mainly because I came to find out I didn't like the .40. Wish now I had gotten it in 9mm with the frame mounted safety.

I have the .40 full size, it needed a bit of work to get it fo function but it runs about 99 percent now. Well made gun and very accurate a bit big for ccw but great for target.

I am considering selling mine as I want the witness compact 10mm to take its place and possibly another carry gun.

Some of the work I had to do to it was tuning of the extractor and feed ramp work/ throating/ polishing. I did also replace the mag springs with wolff extra power and it has not jamed since.

All in all very nice pistol
Nick:)

Does anyone know where I can get extra mags and a holster for the baby eagle .40? I think I will probably have to get the feed ramp polished, because mines jammed a couple of times. I think it was the wolf ammo though because I shot some federals through it and it didn't jam at all. So it may be finicky about the ammo I use. I think I will skip the wolf next time.

Don't go off and polish that feedramp until you put over 500rds of ammo thru your gun. It probably just needs breaking in.'

Making your gun smaller is a no-return path.

CDNN (http://www.cdnninvestments.com/) has mags. They are listed under magnum research.

I have a compact 40 Baby Eagle with a polymer frame. I don't really like this gun. The .40 seams like a little too much for such a small frame.

When it goes off there is quite a bit of muzzel flip. I bought a Beretta 96 compact. It is a little larger and heavier. Haven't shot it yet to campare.

I have even considered selling my Baby Eagle. I have shot 1 box through it. It looks like new.

Your baby eagle is a very solid and heavily built gun...like stated before.
Its based on CZ's design and will funtion very wel for a long time.

Do shoot it alot before polishing anything inc. the feedramp. Doing this with 40 S&W will take some $, but its worth it.

Mags for the DE can be had from magnum research's site or CDNN usually carries them also.

I MUCH prefer the frame mounted safety as to the slide but both seem to work...its just where my thumb KNOWS it should be....simply a matter of preference.

I can make you a holster for the little monster. Check out the www below and email me if your interested.

Shoot well and enjoy your gun.
