.32 SW long
.32 HR magnum

Both work well and are relatively inexpensive.
also easier to find then Nagant ammo.

The Nagant revolver is a good excuse to get into reloading ammo. I suggest the Lee .32-20 Nagant revolver hybrid die set (MidwayUSA, or direct from Lee).

32 S&W Long is your best bet for finding something fairly cheap to shoot. Wouldn't TOUCH .32 H&R. Tried it once, and got "stung" from the leading flying off of the forcing cone. It drew blood.

For the "proper" ammo, there are really only 3 loads available for it:
The "Training" ammo which is 14 bucks for a box of 40.
The "Hotshot" new production ammo goes for 24-25 bucks a box of 50.
The "Fiocchi" loads are just plain outrageous, 35 bucks a box of 50.

Stock up on the "training" stuff when you can find it.

I bought the .32 ACP cylinder for mine and it worked well.
So far I have shot out of the origional cylinder the Nagant ammo and .32 S&W Long and .32 ACP out of the replacement cylinder.

I am saving my spent Nagant ammo just in case I reload for it someday, but I don't even bother saving the .32 ACP and the .32 S&W Long shells.

Sometimes you can find the Hotshot ammo on sale and it is sometimes almost the same price as the Russian target ammo (per round) and it is also reloadable.

I was able to find a bit of the 7.62 Nagant ammo for it. Shot it for experience sake. Most of it split at the case mouth. Just an FYI for those who plan on reloading it. It might just be my revolver, but I thought I would mention it.

If you keep an eye out ammo for it pops up from time to time pretty cheap. I gave $5 a box for Fiochii a while back. That's cheaper than 9mm!

They may decide there is now enough of a market to keep it in production.

You can get it online. http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/762_Nagant.html Russian ammo occasionally comes available as well. These firearms were not manufactured to exact tolerances so your experiences with 32 Long and 32 Magnum may vary. My Nagant revolver shoots the 32 Magnums fine, but splits the cases on the 32 Long. Some people put tape on their 32 Long rounds to prevent splitting. I have read that some people make brass from 32-20 brass and then reload.

I would like to see a 32 Magnum cylinder for the revolver, but I have heard of problems fitting the 32 ACP cylinder so that may not be an option.

I bought some fiuchi wad cutters in .32L from www.grafs.com and some .32 H&R Mags. I thought I was the only one that got stung with the mag rounds. Guess not. I may have to find a .32 mag to finish out that box with.

As to accuracy. From about 15' or so using the double action, it's a really accurate piece. Trying to shoot from farther away it's not I think due to the really tall front sight blade. Neat little gun. I'm still trying to figure out how to get the grips off so I can clean inside the handle area. Anyone know the secret?
