got a swede mauser, currently my favorite rifle. Today at the range, I noticed what looks like a crack in the sight picture (near the very top). It doesn't bother my view of my targets, but I was wondering if it is affecting my POI.

Last two times at the range, I shot sub 1" groups at 100 yds. Today, when I noticed the crack, I shot more like a 2" group.

Can old milsurp scopes be repaired? are there optics companies that can repair the crack (or replace whatever is cracked)?

any advice appreciated!

Yes, there are places or people that can repair it, though uts going to take time, money and patience in finding the repairer.

I would post the same question on the Swede forums on gunboards.com

thanks! I'm going to let it go for now. I examined it in my office at home under a very bright light... it could be a scratch, I don't know.

The back end (the end you look through) (I'm not good with the correct names) looks like a protective piece of glass over the real lens inside, or is it a real lens...?

how do repairs affect value... or would it even affect the value?

Damage that renders the rifle inaccurate hurts value far more than repairing it.

I don't remember the name of the guy, but there's at least one very highly recommended optics repair company that advertises on the Gunboards Sniper Rifle forum that's done some very good work.
