I just got an FAL and noticed that in all of the pictures on the internet, the little terraced button on the frame locking lever is pointed upwards towards the rear sight. On my rifle, the lever is oriented horizontally with the terraced button ending near the safety selector switch.

Is this alright? From looking at the pictures online, it appears it could be put together in several different ways.

It's a DSA StG58 if that makes a difference.

There were variants produced with both locking lever configurations. Someone more knowledgeable than I could probably give you the scoop on which models and when.

Your rifle is in fine working order, however. :cool:
