How many of your own guns can you carry?

Just for fun. :p

A friend and I were talking about CCW, BUGs and he asked how many guns can I carry legally. I mentioned that my CCL instructor hid like three or four guns on him in class to prove the point than NC has no limit (He's a full time LEO trainer and was teaching the validity of a BUG). So then the question came up, how many could i carry?

With just guns and holsters that I own. I was able to carry a 1911 IWB at 4:00, CZ75 in a shoulder holster, SP101 in right pocket holster, S&W 642 in left pocket holster, Keltec P32 IWB at 7:00. That's 6 guns, 72 rounds (including the two extra CZ75 mags to balance the shoulder holster). Plus I could add my AR15 carbine with 28 rounds in the magwell and an extra 28 on the stock for 128 rounds total.

The odd thing was it wasn't too uncomfortable. :p I think I need a ankle holster. :uhoh:

How many guns can you carry, with just the guns and holsters you already own.

One. One gun, one holster. I know, I need more.

With a big enough duffel bag, probably all of 'em. :D

I've carried four messing around.I think I could easily carry 8-10 four pockets a couple IWB/OWB and two shoulder holsters add a coat.but just thinkin about the weight I need a nap.

I'd need a holster for my Mk.II, but I could probably manage to hide all of them under a loose T-shirt. The Serbu Super Shorty I'm getting soon would need a coat.

Legally, I have no idea how many I can carry one me at one time. Personally, I'm not carrying more than one.

However, I can carry any of my handguns (5). However, not a big fan of carrying a .22, don't have a duster to conceal the 7.5" Blackhawk, and I need a new spring for the Star BM before I'd carry it, so 2 - PPK and 1911.

Are you sure NC does not have a limit on number of handguns you can carry concealed?

I only have a holster for my Glock17 that I (never:scrutiny:) carry when I'm in the woods with my dog. I could put my S&W model 60 in a pocket too. So that's 2 guns I could carry.

Are we talking concealed? If that's the case I could get away with five. Two ankle holsters and three on my belt. I'd look fairly bulky, but it would be possible. I would have to wear my suspenders to hold up my pants though.

No restriction in Idaho.

Are you sure NC does not have a limit on number of handguns you can carry concealed?Yes. There is nothing in the NC law that says anything about limiting the number of guns you can carry. However, they do have to be handguns. Concealed rifles are illegal with your concealed handgun permit.

Are we talking concealed? Yes, I was trying to keep them concealed and in holsters. I suppose I could have dropped my CZ70, Makarov or Walther PP in my jacket's pocket too, but I ran out of suitable pocket holsters.

At the same time? !!

Several, actually. One at a time, though, usually.

There are no restrictions here about the number of handguns listed on your permit, nor where/how you can carry on your person or in your vehicle (with a permit), or any of that nonsense. :) So my answer would be any of them, in a pinch. I would have to use "Mexican Carry" (in the waistband of your pants, held by belt pressure, no holster) for some of them. ;)

I have carried two at times (Taurus 85 in pocket, and IWB S&W M60) if wearing a vest, and if on the motorcycle wearing a leather vest, have added a Keltec P3AT to the vests inside pocket.

Only conern has been the potential explanation to officer on why I "need" to carry three handguns at one time...

In Illinois? None. Although I carry a 1911 IWB at my office(private property) and OWB at home, and I don't care who sees it. It's the first thing the pizza guy looks at,every time.

With the holsters I have today, two: IWB and OWB, once each. I've carried more in the past as an exercise, but it's hardly been practical.

...though one of them would be the fold-up carbine in the briefcase/pizza box. :neener:

Seriously, all five of my pistols I have appropriate holsters for CCW, and MO doesn't tell me I can only carry one (at a time). Realistically, though, only three are suitable for real concealed-carry.

Well this is a pretty typical "well armed" setup that I have that rides well and will fit under an untucked shirt without making me look "too" fat.

http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l84/forestpriest/DailyCarryonBeltMedium.jpg

I usually carry no more than 2 but with a lot of ammo. I have carried 4 comfortably and concealed.

XD45 IWB 4oclock
357 sp101 OWB 9oclock
NAA 22mag pocket Right rear
1911 either in a dayplanner holster or with a smartcarry, but with a tight belt smartcarry doesn't work so hot.

Now for the normal carry, well "heavy" normal carry:

xd45 14rds
+6 extra mags (yes it's heavy)
92 rounds for the 45

Ruger sp101 357 5rds
+2 second sixs 12 rds
+2 speedloaders 10rds
+6 speed strips 36 rds
63 rounds for the 357

So 155 rounds total, plus about another 1-200 depending on the day in the car.

It adds about 30lbs of weight :uhoh: I just think of it as working out a little.

Those are the days that I do it "just cuz I can!"

If I am going out normally, on the weekend where I don't need to be uber sleek and unnoticeable or lumpy then I will carry my 357 with all but the speedloaders (they are kinda lumpy and not comfortable.)

In addition I'll carry my xd with me and usually 2 extra mags, I leave out the double middle of back one its a little too thick, the one I have for my 1911 is much more comfortable.

Mostly I just carry my XD by itself with 1 extra mag. But NEVER do I carry a gun without backup ammo!

Reminds me of Police Academy when Tackleberry is undressing and whips out about 5 or 6 of his pieces. (it ends with a BANG, if you recall) I think two would be the max for me although I occasionally carry only one.

I don't know if this counts as "carrying", but if it does I have you all beat. I got to be in the gunner's seat of an Avenger system a few years ago. 8 stinger missiles and a .50 mg. Technically it was "my own because I am a taxpayer.

Just for amusements sake I once loaded up with...

Full sized CZ in an IWB
SIG 229 in an OWB
P-3AT in pocket
Security Six in underarm holster
Bersa in ankle holster
and at least one reload for each.

Upscale casual clothing with a sports jacket.

Wife noticed the ankle holster and missed everything else!
NOT at all comfortable and I'd never do it for real.

I usually carry the g-27. it's my dedicated ccw gun. I can carry my g-17 if i want to, but I like a smaller gun to "conceal" I also have a kimber classic custom 1 that I could carry if'n I wanted to, but I like to be discreet and carry the small .40 as not to invoke panic. in the feild, I carry a colt anaconda 6" .44 mag openly.

None, I only have a CZ-52 and I don't carry. Otherwise the rifles are WAY too big. Can you imagine walking around with a Barret (model 99)? The Mosin's are way to bulky, I have been thinking about a nice little CZ-82.... Still I could carry my (as issued 1918) model 1911. But its too historic for me to actually want to.

good luck

It's interesting that in New Mexico we are limited to one firearm for concealed carry--in a state that has some of most lax firearm laws.

I was bored when my Coronado jacket came in the mail so I stuck a G17 and a G34 in it, added a 1911 SOB and a Kahr MK40 on the ankle and went out for the evening. Took spare mags for all. Why? Because I could. Normal life finds me with a G17 and a BUG.

In Alabama it's the AG's opinion that a pistol permit only allows you to carry 1 pistol (Even travelling in your vehicle, etc). This is not enforced though, and most likely it would be laughed at by a judge if brought to court...

Limit on concealed handguns? That's why they're concealed.

The most I can carry concealed are KelTec P32 (pocket), Taurus 85SSUL (l/side OWB), S&W M13 three-inch (r/side IWB or OWB), Cimarron (Uberti) Lightning (shoulder holster), and Ruger Vaquero Bisley (shoulder holster). If I don't carry the Cimarron and the Ruger, I can carry two Pietta Remington NMAs (dual shoulder holsters). I kinda run outta room.

My usual load out is the KelTec and either the S&W or the Taurus. Depending on where I have to go, sometimes it the KT, the S&W, AND the Taurus.

To prove a Point I once carried both a G17 and G22 in a double shoulder rig, a 1911 on my right hip, a 92FS in SOB, something in a cross draw rig (may have been my USP compact) and a small snubbie on my ankle. In addition I had a couple knives just in case.

When I was teaching ccw class, along with another,we used to see how many guns we could hide on person, then get students to try to find em all.
1 time I had 19 guns on person and they only found 11 of em.
To the best of my knowledge,at least in ky,there's no limit as long as you haveccw.

I went and tried this after I read this thread and I was able to carry 12 pistols and one shotgun on my person with a normal coat for 6 hours in my home without my wife or 3 of my friends noticing any of them. I have Listed them.

A match pair of 32 cal revolvers Iver Jonson on ankles.
A match pair of 40 cal P99 autos on hips.
A pair of 22 cal P22 autos at 11 and 1 tucked in belt holsters.
A pair of model 10 S&W revolvers at 5 and 7 tucked in belt holsters.
A S&W model 327 revolver and
A S&W M&P revolver in 357 mag. in a shoulder rig.
A S&W 1911 in 45 acp in a upper chest rig. Left side.
A S&W M&P auto in 40 cal in a upper chest rig. Right side
Plus a 14 in 12 guage double barrel shotgun. Winchester

fun game. a vaquero on each hip in a buscadero rig, enough room for a S&W 915 in a drop leg holster on one leg, a walther p1 in a shoulder holster, a derringer just about anywhere and a bersa 380 tucked in the wide cowboy gun belt.

damn I am going to have to put all that on and scare the wife :)

I'm sure I could strap on 6 or 8 with a large coat. Seems kind of silly to me though when space would dictate that I am a lot better armed with more magazines than guns.

are we talking just pistols? If so, i would throw my Colt Compact in a IWB and my RIA GI in a shoulder rig.

now, for the hell of it- I could conceal the two mentioned above along with my mini-14 (folding stock) and mossberg under my navy-issue rain coat (more like a trench coat)

gotta figure out a way to conceal that 30-06

with the guns and gear that I have access to? 11. If I went out and bought a couple of ankle holsters, it would take it up to 13. If I had pocket pistols enough, I could up it to 15 just with my front pockets. Never mind coat pockets. That gets into astronomical territory in a hurry.

The breakdown, as follows:

Pair of Taurus 1911s on left side, one IWB, at 9:00, one OWB at about 7:30. 18 rds, total.
RIA and CZ75 on right, rock iwb at 3:00, CZ OWB at about 4:30. 26 rds, total.
Kel-Tec P32 and P3AT in hip pockets. 15 rds, total.
Pair of Ruger Super Blackhawks in double shoulder rig. 12 rds.
Pair of Ruger Bisley Vaqueros in double buscadero rig. 12 rds.
Sistema '28 in computer bag, 9 rds.

Total round count: 92. Not bad for only having one hi cap in the mix.

I actually did that one time, to prove the point that a duster covers a multitude of sins. <G>

Clank. Clank. Clank.

The 'New York Reload' - when your primary's out, switch to the second gun. May not be so important with autos, but with revolvers, pulling a second gun is usually considerably quicker than reloading. Also helps if you can't access the gun on that side for some reason.

Just have 2 pistols and my AR right now. I could carry my P226 in my De Santis "Tuck This!" IWB that is on its way in the mail at 3:00, or in the blackhawk serpa that I have for it now, and I could carry my P229 in my Galco Summer Comfort that I have for it at the small of my back. The 229 takes the 226's mags too ;). As for my AR...not sure.
