Do you think my pistol would be worth? It's a Ruger P95DC (non-stainless) I bought a few years ago. It's practically new with only around 20 rounds fired. Not a scratch or flaw, with all the stock accessories. I was at Gander Mountain last night and talked to the guy about trade ins. He said he could give me about $250 on it tops. What do you guys think it would be worth? I'm thinking about selling it to help fund a new rifle project.

Few hundred maybe. Even if they're not heavily used, "pre-owned" takes a lot off the value of a non-collector-grade firearm.

around me any used, common pistol like that or a Glock, XD, etc....gets about $250 on trade. Private sale is the way to go if you want to put forth the effort.
I dont put for the the effort, hence I dont sell any of these types....nor do I buy anymore of them because they just aren't worth crap right after you buy them.

Yeah. I figured that. Just didn't want to get unnecessarily shafted.

Sounds like a fair trade to me... you lost what, a hundred bucks? That's fair for a trade. FTF sale would net more, but a bigger hassle.
I figure $300 would be a fair asking price privately. Maybe more, if you can get it.

Like anything else in this world...whatever the market brings!
If its a good gun Id just keep it and hold off on your other purchase.
I have had good reslale value on Sigs, Kimbers, and a few Glocks ($400) but I dont know about Rugers.
good luck!

$250 on it tops.
OK for a trade in. Those guys are in it to make money, so count on getting some screwage out of a trade in deal.
How much do you figure it would be worth privatly?
Private sale, $300-something. Would depend on the local market. Whatever you can get.
How does one manage to have owned a gun for "a few years" and not put more than 20 rounds through it? Anything I buy is going to get a few hundred rounds through it at my first opportunity, I don't care if it's the middle of the winter.

I'm a rifle guy. I bought it from a friend's dad that owned a gun shop. He got cancer and sold out, so I picked it up to help him out. Figured it could make a good defense gun later on, but I can get something else when I need that.
