A year or two ago I bought 20 boxes of PMP .45., 220 gr, FMJ from Century Arms for $7.75 per box DELIVERED. I couldn't do that well today, but they are selling it for $8.75 per box with $12.50 shipping. Hey, life is hard. I have found this ammo to be reliable but dirty (sooty).

The 100 round Winchester value packs in 45ACP for $19.95 at Wally Mart is okay. JR

Think wheelweights...Lyman gang molds...Powder and primers
in bulk...How does 3 cents per loaded round strike ya'll?

Cheers!

It seems like WMart has the best deal as I've found nothing at the shows or online that can beat them by a significant amount (shipping costs always raise the advertised price to at or over $200/1000). Winchester is a good brand, American-owned, and shoots accurately. For $20/100 that comes to $200/1000, and I can pick it up whenever I'm in town for other shopping.

I did have a guy in town try to sell me Blazer 230g FMJ for $190/1000, but that's pretty high considering that you can't reuse the brass. Might as well pick up Ga Arms 230g at the gunshow for $220 after tax. At least then I can make my own ammo when I decide to invest in the gear.

One note, all those folks claiming that rolling your own is cheaper get their figures without putting in their hourly wage. Nobody works for free and when you figure in the time needed to get the parts/components and assemble the ammo, you're right up there with every one else.

Not knocking home brews.

Reloading is a labor of love! In some pistol rounds it is not as attractive, but for some it down right the only way to go! In rifles, well that is a whole different boat. Just as some garden and detail their cars. What ever floats a person's boat. But, a person can put out allot of quality ammo for a fraction of factory or commercial remanufactured ammo. To me if I owned a 9mm, I would not bother considering the Winny VP's from Wally World. But, that is me! But, I am a 45ACP devotee! And, it demands to be reloaded. I have a 5 gallon pail of brass that needs attention! I just need the time to catch up. But, I have 4 loaded to the gills 50cal ammo cans with reloads just begging to be shot!
