Do any of you have one of these? I was looking at them thinking it could be fun to shoot but not know of any real use for it. http://www.impactguns.com/store/640832000375.html

M2 Carbine should be along shortly with all kinds of information and pictures for you. There are some better prices locally than Impact is offering.
In the meantime, you might want to try to dig up some posts under his username. He's a big fan of these.
Here's a couple of posts to get you started:

I've got 2 of em, what do you want to know?
they are fun to shoot but you really need to put earplugs in and the the over the ear protection cause that little sucker is loud.

How do you shoot it? Do you shoot it like a regular pistol? If so how does it handle? Is there alot of muzzle flip? Or do you shoot it from the hip or a bench? Really all info is appreciated, I would like to know everything about this thing, including reliability.

I shoot mine in a grip akin to a two handed grip on a semi-auto pistol. With the muzzle break (sold by KT) the gun actually pulls down slightly upon firing. It's really loud, quite accurate at 50 yards with the irons, and lots of fun. Well worth the $525 or so I bought mine for!
Also - get the muzzle break, sling, and handguard. All three are well worth the money, and with the break and sling, you can sling the pistol and push against the grip with one hand for a single-handed stance that is quite stable. Plus you look cooler like that. :D

I shoot mine two handed.
With the Kel-Tec muzzle brake there’s little climb but there is tremendous pressure wake to the sides, so don’t scare your fellow shooters :).

Two handed like a normal pistol or one hand on the forward grip? Does the muzzle break help with muzzle rise?

I have one, fun little gun. I think it makes a great truck gun for running around the ranch.

I’ve shot .22 pistols that have as much muzzle rise as a PLR using the factory muzzle break :)

Does it matter how much ammo is in the mag IE. full mag less rise?

I don't notice any difference, There is not much recoil to start with so full or empty mag makes little difference.

mostly because it is exactly the kind of gun that will be banned by a new AWB.
Good luck.

I've got two and if it appears that the Wicked Witch or Rudy will be President I'm buying two more.
They are a ball to shoot. Most fun shooter I've bought in a long time.
Their use?
They are very accurate and quickly put out thirty 55 grain (soft point) bullets at 2,550+ FPS. If you can't find a "practical" use for that kind of fire power, then just use it as a super fun range gun shooting holes in steel or whatever.:)
Rather than write a bunch of stuff, here's some pictures.
The gun is good for cleaning the berm of dangerous Clay Pigeons.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v135/Bell406_206B/BuckPLRshooting.jpg
The PLR makes a nice 100 yard plinker.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v135/Bell406_206B/PLRscope.jpg
With a Red Dot even us shaky hand guys, while standing, can empty a mag into the BG at 100 yards.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v135/Bell406_206B/100yardsPLR1-1.jpg
The gun has plenty of room to hang on all that "tactical" junk you have around.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v135/Bell406_206B/PLRCarbinesling.jpg
If you need any holes in steel plate, the PLR will take care of it.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v135/Bell406_206B/KT223onsteelfront.jpg
With ammo the gun likes the accuracy isn't half bad.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v135/Bell406_206B/PLR95ydsPMCmatch3226.jpg
If you like to be the center of attention at the range, the PLR will oblige.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v135/Bell406_206B/PLRwithoutflashhider.jpg
But with a Phantom flash hider installed the flash is totally gone.

You're slacking, Mr. Carbine. I'd predicted your pictures weeks ago. ;) If you aren't getting a kickback from Kel-Tec, you should. You've pretty much sold me on one.

They are a most fun little toy. Handgaurd and sling are a must, though. They look silly without the gaurd, and it is difficult to shoot them accurately at range without the sling (unless you rest it). They are nose-heavy little creatures, especially with a BETA-C mag.

As much as I post about the PLR you would think they would at least give me a hat.:D
Crimson Trace once gave me a hat and CD, "Shots In The Dark".
I need some new pictures, but I haven't taken any that show the PLR better.
This is a cool picture.
A 55gr Remington JSP shot from the PLR compared to a 45ACP Gold Dot. The bullets were shot into a single water jug.
Due to my not wanting to readjust the powder measure the velocity of the Rem JSP was a little slow. I'd estimate about 2,300 FPS.

You can find them on the net. The place I got mine has closed down ($23).
Cheaper Than Dirt has them in their catalog ($29.97).

Kel Tec's barrel is threaded longer than normal, so an extra crush washer, washer or jam nut has to be used.
Since one port is blocked the Phantom must installed with that port down, so a jam nut is the easiest to use.
That Phantom in the pictures is installed with one jam nut and a washer.
I just kept filing the side of the washer until I got the proper fit.
I installed a Phantom on my Kel Tec SU-16 CA rifle using a jam nut. That's much easier.

This is the firearm I selected in the 1 gun only for life poll in a previous thread....
The compromise between rifle and handgun fell right here for me!
If I need to carry, I would use a 10 or 20 round mag, and a trench coat or sweatshirst oversived...

And hopefully you'll hit the BG with the first round, because after that you'll be blind and deaf (and the deaf part might be permanent)!

What's that? Speak up, why don'tcha? :p
If you're blind and deaf - what about the BG? He's getting 100% of the flash, 100% of the noise... and if you don't use the muzzle break, you may catch him on fire. :D

Don't have much use for one of these culprits myself, but I always enjoy these PLR-16 threads, 'cause:
(1) I enjoy M2 Carbine's pics and his enthusiasm; and
(2) The PLR-16 is the #1 most politically incorrect firearm to be marketed to the general public since the lapse of the 1994-2004 AWB. (The FNH PS90 comes in second.) Just look at it, esp. with the fore-end guard, red-dot optic, big ol' curved 30-round mag, and sling. That is a (perfectly legal) middle finger at the NFA if I ever saw one.
I give Kel-Tec props for that.

The PLR has a huge fun factor. The last never-touched-a-gun, 82lb, 13yo girl that we took to the range ran 90 rounds of ammo through my PLR in less than 5 minutes usually keeping multiple shell casings in the air at once. The only other guns she really liked were Glocks and a 50yo 9 shot JC Higgings 22 revolver.

Wilson 17&26, I've found the same thing of most women. Of all the guns I bring to shoot, from .22lr to .50BMG, the big hit is the PLR in .223. I think it's the enormous BOOM and flash.

Looks pretty unwieldy and heavy to be used as a pistol, too big to conceal, and the lack of a stock makes me wonder how accurate it is at long ranges unless you're resting it... the idea of holding it out rifle-style to shoot through a scope or red dot reminds me of shooting a Super Soaker or a paintball gun or a PGO shotgun or something and seems pretty awkward.
I guess I just don't see a point. I want to, because they're damned cool, I just don't.

I handled one at the show in Tampa this weekend. They are lovely. I was wanting to buy a SU-16c next, but these have me thinking.
Yes, the fact that they are a liberals worst nightmare makes them score very high on my list.

P. Plainsman: I don't want to segue the thread--but, for you and Evenflo76, you can get nearly as much liberal beard-pulling done with a SU-16C, especially if you put a green laser sight on it.
Show it to them folded, and then demonstrate quickly unfolding the stock. Later today I'm going to try fitting the Kel-Tec single point sling hardware to the 16C--then I can demonstrate how it hangs under my topcoat---:D
