Greetings,

I am just curious:
Is it dangerous (in a kaboum way) to tumble live ammunition in corncob?

Thank you

Some do it. I personally don't but not really because of the safety factor. I don't because it's not necessary.

No, it is not dangerous. I've done it with 9mm, M43, and 30-06 in JHP, SP, RN, and FMJ. I'd avoid it with OTM ammo because of possibly damaging the tip.

I suppose one takes his chances when doing things like this. I have tumbled some live .223's but on the otherhand, I have heard and saw after-effect pics of live ammo going off when a piece of spent brass fell on a open box of ammo.

Good luck :)

Here are a bunch of answers from various perspectives. Personally, I would not.

I've done it. Will do it again, however, I wouldn't do it with a huge number of bullets in the tumbler. Use plenty of media and I wouldn't worry.
