I took the CC class a couple of months ago and today I received my CCP in the mail. I was really happy until I noticed that according to the permit I was born in 1923! That would make me a good 60 years older than I really am.

I have been searching the online DPS site but have come up with nothing. What should I do? How can I fix this?

Anyone else have this happen to them?

Just give them a call. I am sure they will issue you another one with the correct date. Check out www.texaschl.com or something similar. Just do a search for it.

Here is the Texas CHL online website link.

You will probably have to call or write them anyhow.

Also, if you haven't found it yet, here is a Texas CHL Forum:

Call them.
As a related story, my Utah permit lists my state as "NB." I called and told the nice folks that the postal abbreviation of Nebraska is NE, not NB. I was told they get calls like this all the time and that it has to do with their software. So long as everything else was correct, I shouldn't have any trouble. Good folks at the UT BCI.

The Internet has not yet replaced the old-fashioned phone. ;)

It is possible that such errors could render your permit invalid, even though it was their error.

They give CCWs in New Brunswick, Canada?

I called them. They fixed it in the computers very quickly. I also noticed my height was wrong. I mentioned this and I was told to fill out a CR-70 form. This is a change of address. It has nothing about height on it. What a let down, guess my guy was drunk when he went over my app.

No but people from New Brunswick, Ca. can get a Utah permit, or at least they could until a short time ago. Two of my friends from Ontario have them for when they come into the states for extended periods (snobirds).

www.texasonline.com is a good place to start for state govt stuff. Go to Online Services and there is a CHL link.
