I have searched all of the previous threads and checked out a stackload of holster manufacturer websites and i'll be darned if I can find a OWB leather holster for a L Frame 686 2", preferrably with a thumb snap. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

You might try Tucker Gunleather. I have never used them myself, but they leave the barrel length option field open for input. They might be able to help you.

SILHOUETTE HIGH RIDE HOLSTER
Galco makes one listed for a 3" -- wouldn't that fit?

Is the problem that it has to be specifically for the 2" ?
Plenty of 2-1/2" L frame holsters out there. Believe me the 1/2" isn't going to make a difference.

Like hexidismal said, the 1/2" won't make a difference in the holster at all.
If you want a really nice leather holster The DeSantis Thumb Break Scabbard (http://www.desantisholster.com/001.html) is a really nice holster and not too expensive either. It is listed for $62.50 on the site but I have bought it locally for $43. I have one for my 4" M686 and a Speed Scabbard for my 2 3/4" Ruger Police Service-Six. Both are very comfortable and carry the heavy revolvers close to your body.

No worries about the extra 1/2" I just wasn't finding anything under 4".
Thanks again, these are great.

2" 686? As far as I know, the shortest 686 is 2 1/2". And everybody makes a holster for it.

huntingnt,
Believe me, you have to test out the DeSantis Scabbard, either the Speed Scabbard or the Thumb Break model. Both are excellent holsters and they won't cost you a bundle. Go to your local shop and see if they have them in stock. If they do give it a try, you will buy it.

Measure from the front of the cylinder to the end of the muzzle. It should be 2-1/2 inches -- give or take 1/8 inch.

Lots of holsters available. Here's an old Bucheimer I use for my 686. Got it off Ebay for $21.

I would recommend one that covers the trigger.
