I have a Remington model 8 it is a 30 remington however the barrel says 30-30 remington. What year did remington change the name of the 30-30 rem to 30 rem?

John Henwood, author of "the Great Remington 8 and 81", reports that rifles as as late as 1913 were marked .30-30 Remington. Some rifles were also marked .25-35 Remington and chambered for .25 Remington, of course. Check out http://thegreatmdl8.proboards79.com/
