Those who have shot the Judge using the 410, how is the recoil ?
Is it too much recoil for a lady with weak hands and wrist ?
What say ye ?

Lloyd,
While I have not shot the Taurus Judge, I have shot the Bond Arms derringer with 3" .410 shells. I didn't think the 3" .410 was "fun", but not uncomfortable either. There's a whole lot more Judge to hold on to than there is on the derringer, so I would think that if she has any experience at all, she'll be okay. Just to be on the safe side, you may want to shoot lighter loaded 2-1/2" shells first.

Try holding one up. If you can aim it without drooping, you can probably handle the recoil. It has a decent amount of weight for the caliber, and it is nose heavy.

Depends on the lady, her hands, and her wrist. I fired it some time ago and didn't think its recoil offensive.

I have shot .410 shotshells and 200+p Corbon loads through my Judge. The weight of the gun makes for acceptable recoil.
I have shot the same loads through my Bond Arms "Texas Defender" derringer.
While the derringer has more kick than the Judge, I did not find it too bad after several range sessions.
I think any lady could easily handle both guns.

The factory grips, while weird looking, do a great job at absorbing recoil.
With that said, there are many more ammo choices available in a 38/357 and cheaper too...

Was there a precursor to the Judge? I shot a .410/.45 that looked a lot like it, but had a manual safety. Recoil with .45 Colt, 265gr LSWC over 6gr of S1000 was nonexistant. Sadly, it patterned instead of grouped.

I took 2 or 3 shots a few months ago with a judge loaded with 410 shells. Recoil was similar to medium frame 357 from what i remember.

I'm quite sure that 'The Judges" recoil would be the greatest in the Ultra-Lite
version~! :scrutiny:
