New Family Member. Officially a Sig guy!!!

November 20, 2007, 02:49 AM
I just bought a pre loved Sig 220.
A complete impulse buy, something happened after he threw out gun prices that made me just throw down money.

Like new condition and a decent price, they even threw in an extra mag and Hogue grips. The grip feels so nice. I really couldn't say no. Haven't shot it yet will the day after Thanksgiving.
Conceals as easy as my Glock 23, who would of known right.

Was wondering what to expect?
The Good, The Bad, The Ugly... The what ever.

Thanks ahead of time.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about that gun. I have owned a few and feel bad for selling them. I now want a P220 sport and a Sig sauer p220r carry. Enjoy they are awesome.

Big fan here, too. I have two and looking for a 3rd. They just feel/fit perfect. The downside'll be buying more ammo, then more magazines, then another P220....

An old West German SIG-SAUER .45 caliber P220A was my "Bacon Saver" for
many years in law enforcement~! ;) :D

I have had mine for 13 years. Never had an issue with it, even when I intentionally abused it. Good luck

That was a good impulse you had. New, used, doesn't matter. I have 2 new and 2 used 220's. They're all great.

Expect great accuracy and complete reliability. As a Glock shooter you might need a little time to adjust. But P220's are just all tack drivers.

The only thing to remember is to field strip your pistol (after making sure it is unloaded of course) and clean it before you take it to the range. Make sure you always lubricate it (rails, barrel, and contact points) and you'll never have a problem. SIGs like regular lubrication more than Glocks and run better that way. I use TW25b and/or BreakFree.

Enjoy that puppy.

I had one -- not the best experience in the world  But, like my father use to say, "anything man made will have issues!" On the good side tho, it went bang everytime I pulled the trigger & it had really nice ergos!

and I really like it. Shoots great - only "glitch" is that it really doesn't like semi wadcutters - but it still cylces most of them and actually printed tiny little groups with them - just not a reliable choice.

Not one bobble with round ogive bullets.

Hard to go wrong with a P220. It's been really chilly here but I finally got a chance to take my "new to me" P220 out to verify its function and see what the DA/SA trigger was all about. Wow. That thing handled great. Trigger was awesome. And of course, it performed flawlessly. I can't wait to shoot it some more!

Congrats, Don't worry about what you might hear from the armchair commandos. Sigs are very reliable, have above average accuracy and if you're not a lazy slob they won't rust. I've owned four and still have three. Never seen a single malfunction in any of them with thousands of rounds fired.

Welcome to the SIG family.
I carry a 220 regularly; it's the only gun I can trust to work 100%.
