Mossberg Bullpup

During my last visit to Knob Creek machinegun show, a spectator had his 'Evil' Mossberg Bullpup for a sale. He wanted $400 for it, but I passed an offer, I wasn't much into 'assault' type weapons (I know...while hanging out in KCM show?). I've since regretted not buying it.
Was it a good price? Are they up to their hyped up EVIL status, or is it just rambo gimmick device on already dependable mossberg shotgun? Has anyone had any experiece with these?

I've seen them for $300, but it's been a few years since I've come across one.

I had one just like the one in the pic (well without the babe). It was certainly cool looking and kinda fun to play around with but its actual shooting characteristics were awful (understatement of the year!). The slide release has to be reached through a small hole in the stock in such a manner that you should have at least 3 hands. The slide action, trigger and ergonomics are all quite bad. The "sights" are huge and blocky and very close together. Basically a good idea that was poorly executed. Marcus

I fell for the bullpup gimmick and bought one back in the 80's
A BIG waste of money. It looked cool but was clumsy, difficult to shoot accurately and heavy. It belongs in Hollywood not in your home. You will regret buying one if you're looking for a serious gun.

Nigh impossible to hit clays with that thing. (Trust me I tried)
It makes no sense to me to put pistol sights on a long arm AND mount them 3 inches above the bore.
Might be fine for close up and personal, but nothing resembling a long range shooter.

how about optical sight attatchment? Is this a possibility?

You'd have to do some Rube Goldberg engineering to get an optical sight attached.
Why bother? It really is a stinker.
Unless you want a toy, a novelty Don't bother with it
There's a reason Mossberg isn't making these anymore: NOBODY WANTS 'EM!!!

Ithaca made one in 12 ga back in the '60's that looked kinda like a Buck Rogers blaster type ray gun. Handled like a dream, compared to the Mossy Brick.
I should've bought that one, but they wanted far more than I had to spend, and that was many years ago. <sigh>

Never saw an Ithaca bull pup but I remember a High Standard model 10 semi auto bull pup with and without a built in light . Way beyond it's time IMHO.
