Anyone know of some good sites to buy flashlights, such as Surefire, Innova, etc.? I'm also looking for some LED conversions for SureFire and Maglites.
Thanks.

I like these guys: www.brightguy.com They have decent prices and you can pretty much always get someone on the phone if you need to.
I don't know about parts but a good place for lights.
Take care,

i'm a huge fan of Ebay for a lot of things. I think the sheer volume there keeps prices pretty competitive.
You have to beware and do your homework: only buy from sellers w/ high positive feedback, etc.
As evil as paypal is, for some non firearms/knives stuff, they have pretty solid protection/guarantee.

www.lapolicegear.com has some good prices and they run specials a lot. The Surefire G2 with 6 extra batteries is a good deal.

DFW1911's recommendation of www.brightguy.com is a good one.
http://www.lighthound.com/ is another top notch site.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I'm avoiding La Police Gear, though, after reading the story of a member here
(or TFL?). He bought a Surefire from them and they switched the Surefire batteries out for some cheap Chinese batteries. The light exploded in his wife's bag. I've bought from them before, but after reading that story, they lost my business.
Thanks again.

Kestrel-
We just did a THR group buy on Fenix LED lights.
Fenix does some cutting edge lights both in Luxeon and Cree Q5.
The PD2 and 3 are available in the Cree Q5.
Also:
Let me know if you are interested in a L2T v2.0 or a new T1, 225
lumens

For the 2AA Maglite conversions, I have found the Night Eyez work very well. They only cost like $5 at Wal-Mart. They also sell the OEM conversions for the larger Mag lights.

Target is carrying various Inova lights these days. Also several of the "River Rock" lights (also at target) are very good.
For more info than most sane people want go on over th "the candlepower forums" and ask away!

I have an Inova T2 and would like to get a T3. I had a T5 that failed and returned it. I like the end-cap button on the T2 and T3 better than the side button on the T5.
I would like to convert some Surefires to LED - can anyone give me a synopsis on which is better - Luxeon or Cree for the conversions? (I don't know the difference.) By the way, do the Inovas use one or the other?
How good are the Maglite LED conversions?
By the way, does anyone here have a Pelican light? I've had a 3 "C"-cell model one for years, that's been great. It's very durable and bright for it's size. I might like to pick up another Pelican.
Thanks again for all the info.

My extremely limited understanding of the new Mag-Lite LED's is that the poor heatsinking translates to a performance that doesn't live up to potential. There are LED drop ins for the Mag-Lite's that are aftermarket that probably have better heatsinking (again, this is really beyond my knowledge).
I seem to remember someone somewhere saying that the Inova X5 used Nichia (sp?) 5mm LED's. I think I read it at cpf, but not sure. You could check out flashlightreviews.com
TBH, the questions your asking are probably going to be asnwered better at candlepowerforums.

Lighthound.com is an awsome sight for lights. The customer service is second to none and has the fastest shipping I have seen. Great place.

try DealExtreme, best prices, free delivery and arrives by registered mail.
check out the ultrafire c2(cree). $22.40 and it throws a beam like my steamlight ultrastinger. at first i thought it was too good to be true but they're for real. the ultrafire c2 has got to be the best value out there.

Same here. I purchased an Inova X03 shortly after that came out for just over $40. It's a great light that I use (and often unavoidably abuse) just about daily at work. However, as mentioned, investigating feedback is a critical function if purchasing from a vendor off Ebay.
Caveat emptor and happy hunting.

Yes. Performance dramatically drops after about 15 minutes. Of course, some believe this is a design feature, to keep them from overheating...

Unless you intend to use your light as a club, the Mag-Lite is hopelessless out of date. You can buy a good light for little more than the LED conversions cost. And once you have the conversion, you still have an inferior light.
