As promised I said I'd comment on the Dell leather products holster that is made just for the Colt Police. It is great, in fact I liked the Colt Police and the holster so much I bought another gun and have ordered another holster. I'm right handed so I originally bought left hand butt forward for cross draw. This time I'll buy a right hand butt forward so if I want to carry both I can carry them both cross draw or switch them and carry them butt rearward straight draw. Ok, I'm nuts but that's my cross to bear.

I think you're going to find that crossdraw holsters are awkward when worn on their opposite side. They will be angled bore forward, which will make them ungainly when walking if worn at a position that makes drawing the gun easy, or the'll be hard to draw from if worn further back to make walking easier.

Some events ban crossdraw holsters, as the draw subjects a full 90 degrees of the shooter's vicinity to the muzzle when drawing.

Actually the Dell holster seems to hang with the butt forward. I can see the point of not allowing the crossdraw to be used in competition. I won't be using it in competition. For my purposes and being right handed I object to having the holster in the way of my most active hand. I intend to use the gun for squirrels and plinking.
