My new to me Persian Mauser shoots about 6 inches high at 100 with the rear sight on the 1, which I assume is supposed to indicate 100 meters. The obvious fix is to install a taller front sight blade. Anybody here ever done that successfully? If so, where did you get the parts? Since I'll be mostly shooting in low light conditions, any tips on making those black sights visible?

Your front sight is correct for a "battle sight zero".

Aim at the belt buckle, and get a hit.

You can get a taller sight from Brownells and file it down to an exact 100 zero.
