SureFire Question ???

I just purchased a used Surefire 6P flashlight.
It is in great condition but it came without the box and instructions.
I know from reading posts on THR, that this model 6P SureFire has a feature which enables you to "lockout" the tailcap to prevent it from being accidentally turned on.
My Surefire 6P question:
How to you do this? How do you "lockout" the tailcap on the 6P model?

Thanks...

On the tailcap there should be an indention somewhere on the ring. On the body of the flashlight there also should be an indention as well. Turn the tail full until till the light is locked on, now turn the tailcap until the indentions pass each other. At this point even if you push the momentary on/off switch the light shouldn't come on.
Not sure if I'm explaining this clearly, so forgive me if there's any confusion.

UltimaSE has it right. However, be aware that the older 6Ps do not have this feature. You say that your 6P is used ... make sure it is "new" enough to have the lockout tailcap.

If your SF doesn't have a lockout tail cap, simply unscrew the bezel a few turns to accomplish the same feat.

You can buy the tailcap and retrofit as well.
