The luxury of the internet affords us to see the work of and talk to some of the latest and greatest in knifemaking today. When you talk old school tactical one name shines above all others, my "Dad" Al Polkowski. Here is the Bodyguard he delivered to me at the NY Show. Form follows function. Classic Japanese lines with a slight choil and filework forward of the guard. It has a 4 inch blade and an OAL of 8 inches and came with two kydex sheaths. One for a mercharness and one for a Tactical Tether. If you are looking for a good EDC CCW FB, look no farther. Damn, can you tell I love this knife?

I have the same knife except mine is polished. Very elegant.

I met Al Polkowski at the NY knife show a few years ago. Turns out I went to high school with his daughter and I used to live a few miles from his shop. I need to save up my money and add one or two of his knives to my collection.

Al's one of the good guys. He has excellent designs and has done quality work over the years without falling prey to ego and the cult of personality that seems to plague too many "tactical" makers these days.

Hmm. I don't have a huge interest in owning a tactical knife, although I do enjoy looking at them (which is a little weird, I guess). This is a very nice looking knife!
Just looked at his website, and I have to say that my interest has risen considerably. I am curious to see what his folder looks like, and I am really curious to see what a "Jammer" is. For a custom knifemaker, his prices are pretty darn good.
