I would love to see pics of a S&W Bodyguard with Tyler T grips, I'm thinking about one and would love to see some pics. If you don't have a Bodyguard with Tyler T grips just post a pick of your Bodyguard any way, I think the Bodyguard is a sexy .38. Thanks.

Obviously not the bodyguard model, but a nice little brother, my newly acquired M36:

I was cosidering those for my j-frame as well. Nice pair of j-frames. Does adding the t-grip still allow you get that dangling pinkie finger onto the grip? I was thinking of trading out my boot grips for this set-up.

The Hogue Monogrip fills the space behind the trigger guard on my Ruger SP101 in a similar way to the Tyler T Grip. This combo kicks butt to such a degree that you might consider abandoning the Smith, in my humble opinion. :)

OH25shooter....... Nice clean looking S&W .38 with a pinned barrel.
rdrancher......WOW, That 642 is sexy as all get out, what are those grips? Where can I get a pair like that?... Forgive me if I am wrong, is the other well worn friend in the photo a Charter Arms .38??. If so, have you ever had any problems with it, I have thought about getting one, but I was steared into anouther direction. Looks good with the Tyler T-Grips.
Pat Cannon.... Sweet looking Ruger, I have heard they are heavy. The .38 I get will be carried in my Smart Carrt, so I need something light weight. I have been carring my wifes Taurus .38 and now I want one of my own, but a Smith.

My Model 649 with an old pair of Rogers Combat grips. Not the exactly the smallest grips fpr concealment, but great for natural pointability and control.http://http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc231/buckeroobanzai/DSC02767.jpghttp://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc231/buckeroobanzai/DSC02767.jpghttp://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc231/buckeroobanzai/DSC02767.jpgv

bannockburn........ Sweet bodyguard, I hope my trade goes through, I have wanted a bodyguard for a long time. I am trying to trade a Glock 27 for the Bodyguard. Heck, I am thinking about trading my Glock 17 and see if I can find a S&W 66. I used to have one and loved the gun. I don't need bottom feeders anymore so now I want revolvers.

Will5A1..... That bodyguard looks like it has been a good old friend to you. Good old friend that sticks to your side through the good, bad, and the ugly. A true friend that will never let you down, nice piece. The old box of Peters bullets make a nice prop for her, cool!! Do you still carry her?
Richard Simmons... OMG, that is one sexy friend there. Do you still carry her, or has she became a safe queen? If you still carry her, what type of load do you carry?

magnumcarry - Yep, that's a vintage (76ish) Charter Arms next to the 642. It's on my side loaded with GDHP'S IWB as I write this. Here's a link to a grip/t-grip article. (article is now missing some pics...don't know why) http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=314422&page=6

JLB0714 - The pinky-finger lies below the grip, but with a smooth surface (for me) the gun moves better during recoil as compared to the stock 642 grips which feel sticky (to me).

magnumcarry,

Carried her in an ankle rig for about six months after I got her with standard pressure, 158gr LRN ammo. I've fired +P in her and while I wasn't concerned with damage I just felt that with the short barrel I was getting more recoil and flash than anything else so went with the standard load with an eye towards penetration and rapid followup shots.

While she carried beautifully I just couldn't stand the idea of putting wear and tear on her when I had a perfectly good Model 49 that could take her place so she's more a safe queen and range buddy nowadays then a carry piece.

MC - that 49 is retired and came from a retired LEO who carried it when I was still in school, I did use it for awhile but carry a pre-lock 637 now. One thing to consider with any bodyguard type frame is that the hammer well seems to attract lint and dust and whatnot, I was always cleaning it out when I did carry it.

I always thought the Bodyguard series guns were ugly. But, after picking up a 649, I have to admit it's grown on my and I now appreciate the looks of the gun.

Before I bought the Model 649, I had an older Model 38, in nickel, that was my favorite take anywhere gun. It was so light and compact (I had added a Tyler T-Grip to it to make the grip more comfortable), that it was a great choice for a CCW.
