I was wondering if anyone makes a small, pocket-sized s.a. revolver. Something like the 1849 Wells Fargo or any of the other .31 caliber cap-n-ball guns, but in a .32 caliber cartridge. Actually, it would be neat if there was a 5-shot .357 cylinder in a small frame. I'd prefer something that has an ejector rod too, but if it's not available that's okay.

Is there such a thing as this?

The reason I want one is mainly for plinking. I have a cheap german .22 lr SA revolver and I like the feel of it, but I want something more heavy and with a little more power.

Cimmaron makes the Model P Jr. (http://www.cimarron-firearms.com/Specialty/ModelP-Jr.htm) which is a dandy little piece, it would be even better with a birdshead grip.

...getting a small, pocket revolver in SA in a larger caliber than .22 might be a challenge.

I think someone mentioned that Bowen arms has converted Ruger bearcats to 32 mag. Probably a very expensive job.

You could get a Ruger Single Six in 32 and have the barrel shortened. If the adjustable sight model was used you would just have to remount the front sight with new screw holes. The fixed sight version could have a dovetail cut and a new sight blade inserted. Then you could at least adjust for windage.

The ejector rod would be lost or could be shortened but might be too short to work. This should be a simple home gunsmith job.

I once shortened the barrel on my friends stainless blackhawk from 10" to 7.5". It took no more than an hour to do. When he sold it the gunshop didn't even notice it had been done.

Seems to me someone was selling spur trigger Remington .31 pocket pistols converted to .32 center fire, or at least a cylinder and breechplate for making the conversion.

You can get a conversion cylinder for the 1849 that will allow you to to shoot .32 S&W.

You shouldn't have much difficulty finding an original top break S&W pocket pistol if you want faster reloads.

In the 1960s, when Colt was making Single Action Army as well as the
New Frontier with adjustable sights, Colt had many commemorative revolvers.
One of which was a Colt SAA with only a 3 inch barrel. I think it was called
the Sheriff's Model. It did not have an ejector/shroud. Supposedly there
were models like this way back when, when a sheriff had it and just wanted to clear leather ASAP and reloading wasn't an issue.

I remember seeing on of those Remingtons a while back, but I thought they were being made as a .22LR conversion. I don't remember seeing them in .32.

Last Christmas my wife got me a .32 magnum Heritage roughrider w/3" barrel and birdshead grip. It functions very well and came in <$200. The grips are some cheap looking laminate, but I'm planning on making as set from an old piece of oak from a pallet block. I've light loaded it for her w/ 32 longs, and the magnums seem in the .38 special range for power. Great plinker.

(Wait, I don't have a J frame...My two "smallest" wheelguns are a Taurus 431 and a S&W 65.)

I've actually been considering getting one of the little Heritage .32's, though. I'd pick up that NAA for up to $400 or so PDQ.
