Today I purchased a Colt Government Mark IV in 380. The pistol is blued in about 98% condition. It appears to have never been fired. The asking price was $400 and I purchased it on the spot as these pistols are rarely seen in my area. Is this a decent price. Only one mag was provided and no case was available.

Your price sounds OK I think. I KNOW I paid too much for my Colt 380s (2 Stainless Pocketlite Ponys, 2 Stainless Pocketlite Mustangs, 1 Lady Elite). All but one were all ANIB. All of mine have been 100% reliable out of the box so I hope you enjoy yours. I'd like to pick up a Gov 380 stainless pocketlite but don't know if they make a pocketlite or not. Would also like a stainless pocketlite Plus II.

Have you been to the 1911 forum? They have a Colt section & could better answer your questions.

You know, I've never SEEN a blued .380 Government model.

I wonder if it's worth more?

I would really like the Gov't 380 if the safety locked the slide in place, and I passed on buying one from my dad for that reason.
